Who are we?
We are a diverse group of people, from all ages and different backgrounds. Whoever you are, we assure you a very warm welcome at your church.
When should I arrive?
If you have not visited us before then you may feel more relaxed if you arrive ten or fifteen minutes before the start of worship. We have car parks at the front and rear of the church, both accessible from Wesley Street, which do regularly fill up although there is free parking on local streets. Please, however, consider the needs of local residents when parking. For directions to reach us please see the location page. You'll be greeted on the door by our welcoming stewards who will give you some information about the church and notices of forthcoming events.
How should I dress?
Wear whatever you feel comfortable in. We are an informal church and accept people as they are. There is no need to dress up to try and be someone that you're not. Whether you feel comfortable in evening dress or jeans, we intend to make you welcome.
What should I expect?
For some people going anywhere for the first time can be a bit of a nerve-racking experience. To help avoid any worries here's a quick summary of what you can expect at your church. First of all we are a friendly bunch, if you don't understand something please simply ask. Morning worship usually begins at 1030 and evening worship at 1830. Usually we have a few minutes of notices before we spend around an hour in worship.
Our worship time consists of traditional and modern songs which are usually projected onto a screen at the front of the church. If you prefer to sing hymns from a hymn book, just ask. We have large print editions of hymn books for those who require them.
We invite you to share in a drink and biscuits after worship. Stay for a chat too.
Kurios is the name of our group for younger visitors who usually share in the first part of morning worship. There is a creche for the very little ones at the service, as we want the very young to feel welcome too!
Messy Church is on the first Saturday of each month. We have food, crafts and games appropriately geared to the theme of the day. This is for adults and children of all ages.
What about the rest of the week?
God is with us all week long and we aim to lead lives pleasing to him. We're not perfect and we do make mistakes, but we desire to make a positive difference in everything we do. Look at our activities page for a flavour of what we do during the week.
For those with disabilities
We aim to be an all-inclusive church. There are parking spaces for the disabled in front of the church. We have a loop system for the hard-of-hearing which is used during worship. We also have large-print hymn books for the visually-impaired. If you wish to discuss specific needs please speak to one of our stewards, who will be wearing a badge to help you identify them.
